Will It Make the Boat Go Faster?

Combining a Gold Medal-Winning Olympian and a Strategic Business Consultancy

The Problem

We were absolutely thrilled when Dan Ford from Story Screen Ltd reached out to us with such an exciting opportunity! He sought our creativity to develop custom, on-brand music for the remarkable Ben Hunt-Davis MBE, a gold medal-winning Olympian and the visionary leader of the strategic business consultancy, 'Will It Make The Boat Go Faster?'

Dan’s goal was to craft emotive music that would captivate and engage audiences during a unique 'talking corporate headshot' while effortlessly transitioning into the exhilarating ambience of the Olympic victory race—this needed to happen not once but six times!

The Solution

By collaborating closely with Dan, we finely tuned the creative vision to deliver a transformative experience, guiding the audience through a compelling business journey and the emotional highs and lows of an epic struggle. Given the innovative nature of Will It Make The Boat Go Faster, we embraced modern, clean sounds to cultivate an uplifting and optimistic atmosphere that complements Ben’s insights on enhancing business performance. These engaging moments transition seamlessly into an adventurous score reminiscent of cinematic adventures, incorporating traditional orchestral instruments. To add depth to the overall brand experience, we included carefully crafted sound effects. We’re so excited about how this project came together!

This is what Dan Ford, Story Screen Ltd had to say

Black Lab Music provides a fantastic service to videographers like me. The added value bespoke music gives to my video projects is massive, and Michael has a great understanding of emotional beats and storytelling. His work heightens dramatic sequences and lends depth to more prosaic pieces. Plus he's a great collaborator, keen to work out together what the work needs.
