Weekly Update - 22nd May 2023

Hi, I’m Michael and Welcome to the Black Lab Music Update for w/c 22nd May.

But, before I get into this week, let me just update you on some of the project that I’ve worked on since my last video.

I have had the privilege of composing some music for the Gold Medal Winning British Olympic rowing team. It’s been quite extraordinary to find my self composing music to a race that I watched live on TV as it was happening!

I have also worked on a couple of podcast theme tunes and transition audio. It is always exciting to help shape the tone, feel and emotion of a new podcast….developing its sonic universe that will form its brand image. These podcast will be broadcast very soon, so keep watching for more details.

For those that have been following these videos, You are probably wondering what has happened to Colossus…Well…..it’s still going….. I am now on track 6 and have been working with Smudge from Progressive Sound Audio, who is a mastering engineer and is helping me shape the final sound (hi Smudge)

Amongst all this, I have been working on my own solo album, called, ‘Serenity.’ I am on track 4 and it is in my signature Neo Classical sound that crosses the threshold between Ludovico Einaudi and David Gilmore

So, onto this week…..and it’s more of the same.

I am working with a motion graphics designer to produce a logo sting for one of the leading voice over artists….Hi Martin…., and some Audio Dialogue Production work to do for a videographer

And on Wednesday, I have the always great, Creative Collective Networking. This is the leading networking event for creative professionals….details at the bottom of the screen.

Amongst all of that will be some Serenity and some more Colossus.
