The Weekly (P)Update - 26-2-24 - It's all about the business of music

the weekly update title for composing bespoke music for video and film

Hi I’m Michael, the emotive music guy from Black Lab Music and this is the weekly update for all things Black Lab for w/c 26th Feb.

Well, last week we released some music into the wild…..yes, the guys over at Evoluted have their music and are now creating their podcast episodes for general release. It’s always a good week when music gets signed off and the clients are happy.

So, to this week….we are all about the business of music this week.

I have a number of 121’s this week:

  • I’m chatting to Lori Webber about composing library music.

  • Then I'm talking with video editor George James.

  • And I’m having a virtual coffee with Anthony Henderson, another composer and music producer.

On Tuesday evening I will be at Boughton Monchelsea Folk Music Club, playing some traditional and modern folk music.

And on Wednesday I’m at The Creative Collective – the networking group for creative professionals. Find out more at

In between, I will be finishing the composing for Knights of the Colossus – our big, epic library music album.

And, as well as all of that I’ll be giving a load of guitar lessons! Oh….and of course, some dog walks.

So that’s my week, I’d love to know what you’re up to.

And, as always, if you want to make the music in your productions work as hard as you then lets have a virtual can arrange one here....

God Bless
